Neurobiology of Influence: New Approaches to the Study of Information Manipulation in Media
On April 9, 2020, the V International Scientific and Practical Conference "Digital Media for the Future: Media Literacy, Media Ecology, Digital Cultures" was held, organized by the Center for Digital Cultures and Media Literacy of the Higher School of Economics.
Vasily Klyucharev presented at the conference the report "Neurobiology of Influence: New Approaches to the Study of Information Manipulation in the Media". Vasily spoke about a new method for studying brain activity in the perception of media narratives. Using the intersubject correlation method, you can see how brain activity is synchronized in a group of people who watch the same video sequence, for example, a news program. This allows you to notice which elements of the video have the greatest impact on viewers.
