Cognitive Sciences Ph.D. school is accepting applications for 2024

Studying at the PhD School in Cognitive Sciences opens avenues for careers in leading academic institutions, both in Russia and abroad.

PhD school in Cognitive Sciences, provides opportunities for cutting-edge research at the forefront of global neuroscience, leading scientists and unique equipment, primarily from the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience and the Center for Language and Brain. Research opportunities cover psychophysiology, neurophysiology, neuroeconomics, applied linguistics, computationalneuroscience, non-invasive brain stimulation (TMS and tDCS), brain-computer interfaces, and the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning to cognitive data. 

Upon completion of the graduate school program, candidates are eligible to defend a PhD degree through the dissertation council in cognitive sciences. The council awards academic degrees in “Cognitive Sciences” (specialty 5.12) with subspecialities in psychological (5.12.1), biological (5.12.2), philological (5.12.3) and physical and mathematical sciences (5.12.4) depending on the topic of the dissertation.

While there are two waves of admission at the Higher School of Economics, we draw your attention that most likely there will be no second wave at our graduate school as all 10 available spots are expected to be filled in the first wave.

The first wave of admissions is accepting applications from January 25 to 18:00 March 14, 2024.
