International Laboratory for Social Neurobiology, Institute of Cognitive Neurosciences, Higher School of Economics, together “H.Turner National Medical Research Center for Сhildren's Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery” of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation won the contest of grants of the RSF for conducting interdisciplinary projects.
In the 2020-2021 academic year, students of the HSE Master's Programme ‘Cognitive Sciences and Technologies: from Neuron to Cognition’ will be able to additionally apply for a continuous Master’s/PhD track. Studying in a single programme, they will participate in the international project iBRAIN, organized by leading European universities.
A ‘Mega-Grant’ Competition for ground-breaking research projects funded by the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education was held for the seventh time, and this year’s competition winners included two projects that will be based at HSE University campuses. One research group will study dynamic systems at HSE – Nizhny Novgorod, and a new social neurobiology laboratory will begin work at HSE University in Moscow.
September 23-26, HSE University and Moscow State University of Psychology and Education will host lectures by KARL FRISTON, an outstanding British neuroscientist, scientific director of the Laboratory for Functional Neuroimaging at University College London
September 4, 2019 was a day of firsts for the School of Psychology and the Centre for Cognition and Decision Making. Zachary Yaple, who was born in the United States and grew up in England, defended his dissertation, 'Neurophysiological Correlates of Risky Decision-Making'. His defense marked the first PhD to be prepared at the Centre for Cognition and Decision Making and the first PhD to be awarded to an international student by the Doctoral School of Psychology.
The HSE will host the first seminar on neuroeconomics, organized jointly with École normale supérieure (Paris). Neuroeconomics studies the decision-making process and uses economic approaches to study the brain and achieve neuroscience to adjust economic decision-making models.
